La Petite France, an authentic French bakery café, offers a variety of fresh food creations while providing a uniquely Parisian experience. We offer artisanal pastries, breads and cakes fresh baked every morning along with a selection of authentic French fare such as quiche, croque monsieur and of course croissants.  Join us on the weekends for crepes and brunch including decadent chocolate croissant pain perdu (French toast on chocolate croissant).  You can bring the taste of France to your events or parties with our catering menu or beautiful crepe cart.

The La Petite France story began in Paris where Alexandra and Romeo, a young French couple met in school.  After finishing his studies as a Boulanger and Pâtissier, Romeo and Alex moved to Connecticut where she graduated from the UConn MBA program. They opened their first location in Stafford Springs where they began winning over Connecticut with delicious breads, croissants and cakes.  In 2009 they opened their second location in West Hartford center where they are currently based.

“I just wanted to let you know that the food for my party today was just fabulous. The savory appetizers were simply delicious and so easy to warm in the oven. The assorted desserts were so pretty — almost too pretty to eat. But we did eat them and enjoy them immensely.
Lastly, the macarons — little pieces of heaven. Everyone at the party was so complimentary saying that the food was not only delicious but made a beautiful presentation. I will definitely use Le Petite France again and recommend you to friends and family”.

From TripAdvisor:

SarahAnne715 from West Hartford, CT says: “My favorite lunch place in WH Center. Excellent food, cozy atmosphere, lovely staff that make you feel at home”.

Taipei Tim from Taipei, Taiwan says: “La Petite France is a comfortable, relatively small restaurant that makes you feel like you’re in France. You order at the counter, in French if you want, and one of the servers (who also prepare meals and give you your change) brings it to your table. Tables are generally small but there is room for 6 at one table and I’ve seen couples sitting romantically in the corner. There’s also a counter with electrical outlets so you can act like your working at Starbucks – my favorite thing to do. A few seats are also available outside if you’re a people watcher. Overall, one of my favorite restaurants”.

Philip from Connecticut says: “Everything about the place says ‘I care’. The food is wonderful. The desserts are superb (get those macaroons, oh my) and their coffee and cafe lattes are perfect. The service is good and they seem to really care if you enjoyed your meal. Are you going to ask for more than that? Plus – they speak French!”

Karen Ellen M from Midland Michigan says: “The croissants are delicious. We also had macaroons. They were very good as well. I would certainly purchase pastry here again. The atmosphere is cozy and small. We took our items home to eat. I liked the selection of items.”

Had been searching for a true French pastry shop like that one for well over 30 years! We will be visiting again!
